2003 Girl's Results - 2003 Boy's Results
General Information: The 2003 Delaware Track and Field Championships will be held Thursday, May 15 at the sports complex northwest of McLouth High School. Field events will begin at 3 PM and running preliminaries at 4 PM. This year’s meet will be hosted by Jefferson County North High School. Coaches are reminded to bring your ‘Sportsmanship and Legal Uniform’ card. The coach’s scratch meeting will be held at 2:30 pm at the building near the finish line.
Facilities: The facility contains a six lane rubberized surface track. Please use 1/4 inch pyramid spikes. Long jump, Triple jump, High Jump, and Pole Vault surfaces are also rubberized. Javelin will be thrown on grass, Shot Put and Discus on concrete. Restrooms and concession stand are available on the west side of the track. Changing facilities are not available at the field, so please arrive dressed to compete. Please limit team camps to outside the fence. A hospitality room will be available for coaches and bus drivers.
Entries: Teams may enter three individuals or one relay per event. Entry forms are attached, or you can e-mail to joneill@usd339.net to receive a computerized form. If you have a different form you like feel free to use it, just make sure the entries listed are the KSHSAA recommended events. Typed or computer generated entries are preferred to handwritten entries. Entries may be emailed to the above address, or FAXed to Jefferson County North at 913-774-8535. Entry forms must be received by 4 PM on Monday, May 12 to ensure proper entry by meet time. Please include an e-mail address with entries so proof sheets may be returned to you. Scratches only will be allowed at the meet. Instructions for substitutions or corrections will be sent along with proof sheets.
Field Events: Please bring your own legal throwing equipment. Jumping and throwing events (except HJ and PV) will have 3 attempts in preliminaries, with the top seven advancing on best distance to finals, where 3 more attempts will be allowed. Coaches are reminded to bring pole vault verification sheets.
Running events: Preliminaries will begin at 4 PM. Athletes will advance to finals by place. In events with 2 heats, 3 per heat will advance; with 3 heats, 2 per heat will advance; if 4, 5, or 6 heats are needed, one per heat will advance with the remaining spot(s) filled by fastest time. Semi-finals will not be run. The KSHSAA recommended order of events will be followed.
Pass Gate: DVL passes will not be accepted at the League Meet. Team buses and occupants will be admitted and should park across the driveway from the stadium at the edge of the park. Gate keepers will have a list of league administrators who will be admitted free. All others are expected to pay, so please help us out by telling athletes to remind their parents and other spectators. Gate prices are $3.00 for adults and $2.00 students.
